I was the first one to roll my eyes at this contraption because yes there are ways you can work on the feet to develop them into dancer feet. However, I have a student whose dream is to go on pointe some day. She is 11 and just started 1 year ago and her feet and ankles are so stiff that I don't think any amount of ballet exercises and stretches will help her so I am recommending this device so she has something tangible to work with every day. I am going to be sure she knows how to position her feet correctly and then pray for results for this otherwise talented girl!

Alegro05/29/2015LEARN TO USE IT!
I see a lot of reviews saying this machine doesnt work or it can break your foot, well if you dont know how to use it or u dont know your limits, yes, it can happen, First I do 50 releves, the i put my foot on the pro arch and i go down and up with my knee bend for 1 minute, then with straight knee another minute then i just let my foot hold there for aother minute. If you push to hard you may break something, let the pro arch work and dont push yourself to much. Its working for me, i hope it does to you.

Balletisthebest11/18/2013PRO ARCH
This product is great. A little pricey, but worth every penny. That is, of course, if you are consistent about using it. If this product is utilized at least once every other day results will be shown. I can really feel the stretch. If this is in your budget and you have low arch problems , this is a great buy!

The very first time I saw this contraption, I thought to myself "There's not a shredder at the bottom of this thing, is there?".. it's appearance is just so intimidating and to be honest it reminds me of a wood-chipper.
ANYWAYS....
Some say this works, others don't. There are so many "feet stretchers" out there. From "Pro-Arch", to "Chinerina Arch Stretch" or something like that, to "Ballet Foot Stretch".. They're all the same concept as putting your feet under some low furniture and straightening your leg.
It's dangerous to stretch your foot like this. I would stretch my feet under my coffee table and my achille's hurt INCREDIBLY BAD for weeks! Thank goodness it doesn't anymore; dancing was a pain. It's best if you do roll-throughs en pointe or demi pointe, releves, or just simply sticking your legs straight out infront of you and pushing them with your own two hands OR just get a TheraBand.. Therabands and other Resist-a-bands are MADE for your feet and for rehabilitation of the muscles and tendons and bones in your feet, so it's almost impossible to hurt yourself on them.
If you're headstrong about this product, go ahead and spend your 180$ and may the best of luck be with you.

Rory10/18/2007 Washington Dc,
I used this piece of equipment in the physical therapy/pilates room this year during my summer intensive. I think me feet looked loads better in class after I used it a few times, and I'm sure my arches would improve noticeably if I had the opportunity to use one more. I am definitely getting this for my birthday.

Jill10/08/2007 Sahuarita Az,THE NEED TO HAVE THIS IS OVERWHELMING
I have slightly arched feet, but they could do with a nice improvement. I've been trying to stretch them under my dresser in my room but it hurts, so this might be a good buy after reading all the 5 star reviews about how much this works! Hoping to get it for Christmas.

Rachel07/24/2007GREAT FOR POINTE SHOES!
I wrote a review on this product earlier, and my view is still the same: I love it. But, I just wanted to share a discovery with others deciding whether or not to purchase this item and dancers who already own one. Here are three little tidbits of information: 1) If it irritates your skin or causes blisters, put on socks. 2)Putting on your pointe shoes and using the Pro-Arch will help break-in your shoes quickly, but without bending or cracking the shank completely in two. 3)If you use the Pro-Arch consistently, you will definitely see improvement in the strength and flexibility of your ankle and in your arch. I had no arch before I started using this and now I have a wonderful one. It is far better than using the bottom of a sofa, and you can see your progress. What worked for me was setting aside a certain time every day to use it. After using it daily for about two months, I was astonished at how much better my arch was. Listen to me: Take my advice if you are in doubt. BUY this item. Even though it is PRICEY, it is WELL worth the cost if you want to improve.

Laurie02/11/2007 Sandy, Ut,COUNTER POINTE
While I do not have one, I would like one. Since 2 reviews were obviously from skeptical people, I felt I would leave one from an optimist. I think anything to help strengthen feet would be great. I have the little rubber strip but would love one of these. I have very weak feet and no arch. I hope that this device can deliver what it says it does. Of course, it takes time to work. Like any new work out, you have to wait 4-6 weeks for results. When I can afford one, I will buy one.

MV08/22/2006 New York,THIS IS GREAT FOR POINTE
I think this is great if you are trying to make your arch better for pointe. We have one of these at my dance school, it helps. I think it's so good that I might buy one for home.

sash05/29/2006RIDICULOUS
This piece of equipment is completely ridiculous!! If you don't have archy feet, too bad. It is not good to try and alter your body in a way it was not meant to be altered!! But then again, it's your choice... Be forewarned

Why so expensive and is it safe????
So expensive i have no idea.
Safe? If you know how to use it, its is, start warming up your feet, then do point flex on th pro arch with bend knee, then again with straight knee, then holds, no more than 1 minute per excersice, it comes with a cd, and they say just a few minutes per day, other wise it can satrt the pain. - Alegro (05/29/2015)
