Capezio's "Lilina" features a 1 ¼" sculpted Cuban heel that has a large strike zone for stability. Other features include a scored leather sole with top grain leather upper, a side buckle for easy adjustment and secure fit, brushed Microfiber lining and socklining, a non-slip heel counter, and padded insole with arch cookie for comfort. 1 1/4" heel
I've had mine for three years now and they're still holding strong. (I wear them for musical theatre). I love the wider strike zone on the heel, it helps me keep my balance during faster-paced dances, they're also extremely comfortable. I followed the suggested fitting and got a half-size bigger and they fit just fine. The only complaint I have is that the strap digs into the bottom of my ankle but I've always had that happen with character shoes.
Nice big strike zone on the sturdy heel for energetic dancing and a small amount of padding inside for comfort, but the size runs about 3/4 to 1 size too small. I wear a large 10 or small 10.5, and the 11, which is unfortunately as large as they go, was too small. I was sad to have to send them back and haven't found anything comparable.
I have had these shoes for a few months and overall I like them. The taps that come on them aren't that loud, but that could be solved by just replacing the taps. I also have buckling issues with them. It takes awhile for me to get them buckled, but once they're on my feet, I have no issues with the shoes.
Just recently started a line dancing group of women who are NOT dancers--we all got these shoes from local suppliers, but they are the most comfortable shoes I own. Definitely have to get at least a 1/2 size larger. Our only complaint is having difficulty with the buckle.
