These were my first toe pads.I didn't like them. They were WAAYY to thick. They were so thick it caused my shoe to be to big. They got really dirty and my sweat pooled in them. But I had really strong feet.My friend didn't have as strong feet, and she loved them.So I say,if your feet aren't as strong these are fine. If you have strong feet, ouch pouches are better!

Alicer07/23/2013FANTASTIC FOR NURSES!!!
Again, I am sooooo NOT a dancer!! My cap is off to you folks, you have earned my undying envy. I am a nurse with arthritic feet wearing mega orthotics and forced to protect my sliding toes on 12 hour shifts! One size shoe is too small and the next size up is too large with the orthotic so I need something to keep my toes from sliding forward. This product works best so far and is most comfortable. It is seamless so it remained reasonably comfortable for the entire shift. I still need something under the ball of my foot but that is another issue!

DanceReigns05/19/2013SQUEEZE YOUR FEET BUT FEEL GREAT
These are fantastic, BUT if you already have fitted pointe shoes they will squeeze your feet to death so if your going to get these and plan on wearing them all the time, MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR POINTE SHOES FITTED WITH THEM ON, because they are really thick

So I liked how they felt, they were uber comfortable, but I use Gaynor Mindens and it was a pain in the butt to get my shoe on after I put them on my feet. I don't know if they're just too sticky or if they're just too thick, but I would NOT reccomend to any one who uses Gaynor's. I really wish that these would have worked for me, because they really WERE super comfortable. The durability though? Not so great. They started to rip after two uses

SandraLA07/31/2012COMFORTABLE BUT VERY THICK
These are probably the most comfortable pads I've come across in 10 years of dancing.
They are literally the thickest and probably best for beginners or those sensitive to pain. You really can't feel a thing.
They can still be used by advanced dancers, I sometimes use them today, however not feeling the floor is one of the biggest problems.
The other problem is that it's very hard to clean and odors build quickly. Washing them and using baby powder (even following the instructions) do not help.

I have greek feet (second toe is the longest) so naturally there is more pressure on my index toe when I go en pointe. When I purchased these pads at the store, I loved them instantly! They are thick but they shape to my foot perfectly, putting enough 'cushion' under my big toe so that there was an equal distribution of pressure on my first and second toe.
Personally, I only wore this and nothing else in my shoe, no spacers, no cover toe pads, etc. When I went en pointe, I felt secure in my shoe (not sinking into my shoe) AND I could feel the floor (probably because I just only wore these pads).
The flaws of these pads are: bulky/thick, get a little too stick (dust them in baby powder), and cracked (for me anyways) within a month but I used it from April to November until it ripped straight across.

Jenna06/23/2011 Vancouver, Bc,BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.
I've only had these for a week now, which means I've only spent a couple of hours in them, so I can't say anything about their durability yet. That said, they bounce back into their original shape when I take them off, and the only ripping I've seen (the tip of one of the side "wings" came off) was my fault, not a result of using them properly. I have wide feet (Suffolk XXX) and I wear a street size 8/8.5, and these are a little snug on the tips, but I think that actually helps them to stay in place. Worn under my convertible tights, against the skin, they don't slip at all! They are so soft and comfortable that I can practice my balance on pointe while doing other things (reading, watching TB) and forget I'm doing it. Whether or not that's necessarily a good thing, well, that's a toss up, but it definitely proves the pads work! My only real complaint is that if I don't powder the tips (I don't powder the whole thing, 'cuz I like it to stick, but I do powder just where the ends of my toes touch), it starts to feel like they're getting under the ends of my toe nails, even though I keep them trimmed as short as possible. If you've ever had that sensation on pointe, you know it's not pleasant! Power in the tips, or a quick re-adjustment solves the problem, though.

These toe pads are okay. They squeeze your toes and make them numb. They don't let you feel the floor. When I got the reversible pillows for pointes, I was surprised at how well I could dance.

I'm on my first year of pointe, and when I went to be fit for shoes the woman recommended these pads with Grishkos 2007 (which I also love VERY much) but these pads are fantastic I love them! But make sure you powder them, they are VERY sticky!

Kim06/03/2009 California,OKAY AT FIRST
When I first got these I LOVED them, it felt like I was dancing on air. But when I first tried them on I only wore them for a few seconds. When I went to class I had to change out of them and back to my old ones half way through class. They make you're feet really sweaty and sticky and I got a huge blister after wearing them. Plus when you first get them they smell really bad, even when they first come out of the package. I do NOT recommend these.

I like these toe pads; however, they get dirty very easily also they are supposed to last forever, but I've only had them for a month and they are getting cracks in them. They are also very thick, which is a bad thing for some people, but good for others.

Anonymous02/13/2009 West Coast .,NOT FOR THE ADVANCED/PRE-PROFESSIONAL!
The school of a large west coast ballet company where I train does not allow any kind of padding with this general make, so I was curious to try it on my own in private classes I take. This pad is extremely thick, which does not allow me to press down and in to the floor when on eleve/releve/pique to achieve proper alignment and full extension. Pirouettes are also difficult as the pad keeps me from feeling firm contact with the floor. My private instructor noticed within fifteen minutes of the beginning of our session that something was wrong and made me remove the pads. I would not recommend this product for anyone but beginners.

Very confused on the reviews. The bad reviews talk about not being able to "feel the floor"--if the balance is there...there shouldn't be an issue on what you pad the shoe with girls! It's about comfort and being tired of circumcising your toes!!! I've decided to go with my instinct "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!"

I've been on pointe for 7 years and these are pretty good toe pads. I have very narrow feet (Grishko X) and they fill out where I need them to. I prefer not to powder them and let them stick to my feet. Initially they're a little strange but once you've worn them and they've molded they're pretty good.
The only obvious negative thing about them is that, for me, they seem to rip on the left side which can be somewhat painful if you're hopping a lot.

Shelley (dancer.757)10/13/2008 Virginia Beach, Va,
I went back to pointe as an adult; about 27. These pads were the best thing that I have ever tried! When dancing on pointe as a teen; I hated the feeling of lambswool; it shifted in my shoes and caused my toes to bleed terribly! I have sensitive skin on my feet and they blister easily and I cannot have any friction with just the shoe. It hurts way too much. These pads have been a miracle! Mine have lasted over 5 years and I just wore them out. Time for a new set. Pricey but they are definitely worth it! They work well with Gaynor Mindens which is what I wear; they also work well with other brands such as Bloch and Chacott pointe shoes. Highly recommended for dancers with sensitive feet and they support my weight better since I am a heavier, taller dancer, weighing over 150lbs.

At first I LOVED these toe pads. I refused to use any thing else, but as I started to work harder and dance in pointe shoes longer, they just became a pain. After about 30 min. the powder wears off and they feel like concrete on your toes. They are PERFECT for beginners en pointe.

These are horrible! Ive tried many different toe pads and these were the worst! Ive never had my feet bleed so much in my life! Some people may like them, but if you are looking for some padding, these are pointless, youre better off going with lambs wool!

This is definitely not a product for dancers who are new to wearing pointe shoes. I have tried just about every type of toe pad since I started pointe, and have been wearing these for the last 6 years. I find that if you stretch them over your feet, they don't make your toes become numb. They are mainly useful for if you're in a ballet company and are dancing for multiple hours. Otherwise, you should probably just by cheaper toe pads.

Sandra05/08/2008 Los Angeles,ZERO PAIN!
I got these after my Ouch Pouches started to wear thin. First, I want to go over a list of "bad" things about this product.
It's very sticky, especially after a wash. You do need to let it dry on a clean plastic surface and powder it. It can be difficult to put on, it looks like it fits a size 7 perfectly, but I'm a size 9 and I need to carefully stretch it every time I put it on. Also, you do need to wear them under your convertible tights.
If you do not put them on right and an edge is folded, then that edge can become deformed and not fixable.
It's thick under the toes when standing flat as it is in front of the toes, so some may not like that, I am not sure if it helps me or not. You may need to get a larger sized shoe, not wider but longer by a half size.
Now after all that "bad" stuff, what is the positive? Zero pain! And that is worth 4 stars to me. It makes pointe for me virtually painless. It also does not rub and rip my skin as my old ouch pouches did. I also did not find these slippery as some have mentioned, though they might be if you wear a size 6 or smaller. They also do not rip, but they can deform.
If they had a larger size and fix the deformation problem then I would definitely give it 5 stars.

Natalie01/29/2008 Alexandria, Va,AMAZING.
I love these pads. They are a little thick, so you'll have to get a slightly bigger shoe. I can stay on pointe so much longer and more comfortably than ever. FABULOUS. You do have to use baby powder every other time you wear them after a while, but that's not a big deal- they wash well with soap and warm water.

I hate this item! I just started pointe and these were my first pads. Every-time I was done my toes were numb. You can't feel the floor and these are dangerous. Do not buy them. I now have the ouch pouch's and they're so much better! basically just find what works... but this doesn't.

I love these! When I got fitted for my first pair of pointe shoes, I got these, and so far, I love them, they are great. They can get a little sticky, but it's nothing a little baby powder can't fix. Remember to take them when you get fitted. GREAT for beginners.

Angel02/03/2007 Eastern U.s.,FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS IS HELPFUL
First of all, sweaty silicone is slippery. And if your feet are sweaty, then these pads will be sweaty. And slippery. And stinky. That's why you wear them with TIGHTS, people! Also, so I don't constantly have to coat them with baby powder, I took an old pair of tights and cut a large square out of them, one for each foot. I wear convertible tights so I put the tight-square material over my bare toes, put on the pad and then pull the toe of my tights over the outside of the pad. Keeps everything in its place. Dry and comfy. Also, if you don't wear tight-like material inside these silicone pads, then your toenails will rip into them. No wonder they don't last on some of you! Good grief. Use a little common sense! I've had only one pair and they've lasted me over 5 years. These are a tad bit bulky. But I have very skinny and tapered toes. The alternatives for padding in my case are horrifying. Pointe makers just don't make shoes for people with my type of feet. So I have to make my feet match their shoes. That's the only way to do it in my case. I've tried everything. Lambs wool toe pads are nice, I agree. But they just don't work on some shoes I like because the pointe makers don't make the shoes narrow enough for me. So I have to pad my feet. Some people do have problem feet.

These toe pads are terrible! They totally cut off the circulation in my toes. I told my instructor about them and she told the studios shop to throw them away. I like the padding but when my toes go numb, that's enough!

I've used these toe pads for a while and I like them a lot. As long as you baby powder them a lot, they last a long time (6 months or more). I would definitely recommend them to others, but make sure you bring them with you when you have your pointe shoes fitted, as with any other toe pad, to assure that they fit comfortably in your pointe shoes. If your pointe shoes were fitted with a different toe pad, definitely stick with that one.

Anonymous06/12/2006WAY TOO THICK!
Ok... these were so awful! First of all, they were so thick, I could barely get my point shoes on. Second, my feet became numb within minutes of wearing them, third they suction cupped my feet! As you can see, these didn't work for me at all, they are hard unlike other jell pads I have tried. I think I'll stick with my lambs wool!

I have worn these 'ultra lite' pads as well as Eurotard's regular blue gel pads. Strangely, these ones are thicker than the regular blue ones. So why are they called 'ultra lite'? It is very confusing. I love the blue pads, but these 'ultra lite' toe pads are way too thick, especially under the metatarsals, resulting in the body weight being incorrectly focused on the heel instead of the toes on flat foot, also increasing difficulty in rising to demi pointe.

These do cushion, but they are quite bulky. For comfort, you would be better off getting better-fitting shoes and using a thinner pad.
