I have used Gamba shoes and they work best for my feet. I thought I would try an online order but these did not fit right. I ordered what I had been getting with a fitting at a shoe store. These ran small maybe mismarked size.

PrettyInPink01/08/2013GREAT
I really like these shoes. I have really low arches and some of the shoes I wear make it hard for me to roll up to pointe, but I do break my shanks fast because of my height. During class I don't wear my tights covering my feet. The cotton lining is really comfortable! I also wear the shoes with Bunheads Light Pink Flexers and the New Ouch Pouch.
The new ouch pouch you don't see the pads in the shoe, and the light pink bunheads flexers match the shoes perfectly. Even though the shoes come with ribbons I recommend buying the Bunhead flexers or Grishko ribbons because the ones that come with the shoe are too stiff and you can't move around much.

nycballerina12/26/2012NT COMFORTABLE AT ALL
I had these shoes once, and I didn't like them at all. I thought they were extremely uncomfortable. I also felt that the heel was really low, because they would always falloff, especially when I was running or on demi-pointe. I wouldn't recommend these unless you really wanted to try them out. The shoe actually didn't look that bad on my foot, but obviously there's more to a perfect pointe shoe than its look. I just thought this certain shoe was uncomfortable, and I didn't like them at all.

balletbot1210/21/2012NT GOOD FOR HIGH ARCHES
These were my first pair of pointe shoes, but I personally didnt like them. I have very high arches, and Gambas done form to your arch AT ALL. Also, they are very clunky and bulky to me. Also, these shoes but so much preassure and friction on my big toes and i got the worst blisters there! :(

nonamesarettakin07/15/2012IF YOU HAVE GOOD FEET, DON'T BUY.
I got these shoes three months ago and am really unhappy. My feet are pretty strong and my arches are good. Attempting to 'break in' these shoes was terrible! Not only do they break in after one use they don't even show your arch. My teachers have told me never to use them again as they made my feet look like I had no arch, and didn't hug my foot.
Though they where very easy and comfortable to dance in, I do not want to give up the arches I have worked hard to build.

goatwhisperer06/29/2012I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO A FRIEND
I am 14 and have pointe class for about 5 hours a week. I tried these shoes for the 1st time and I really like them. My feet are fairly narrow and I ordered and "x." Next time I will order a narrow shoe because when en demi pointe the sides gape open a bit. I really like the shape of the shoe and the way it makes my feet look. I usually wear a size 7.5 street shoe and I wear a 6 in these. Overall a really great product.

Colette08/24/2009 Boise,GREAT SHOES!
If you have trouble on pointe then these are definitely shoes for you! They help you gain strength and it's not incredibly difficult to get over the box. Well, at first it might, but all you need to do is to keep arching them and working in them.

Laura04/27/2009GOOD FOR BEGINNERS
These are the only pointe shoes I've ever owned and they work well to an extent, but there are a few issues I've had with them. I have very long toes and thin feet with a high arch, and it's difficult to roll through the shoe- my feet often "pop" when coming up to full pointe. Also, when walking or running on demi pointe, these shoes are very clunky and make a lot of noise. I would recommend them for beginners as they have a strong box and medium shank, but if you're a more advanced dancer I would try something else.

THESE ARE THE BEST SHOES EVER! I have a pretty high arch and a small foot with short toes, and these work GREAT! I've been wearing this type of shoe for almost a year and they have been amazing. They last a decent amount of time--3 weeks and the form to my feet really well. Give them a try!

Dancer36904/05/2009SHOES TO STRENGTHEN YOUR FEET!
I went to the dance store today looking for a new pair of shoes. I was wearing Grishko elite hard shank, and I bought these instead. I am so excited to try them! I was looking for a shoe where I really point my toes in the shoe to make sure my strength is keeping me on balance and not the strength of the shoe! I have wide feet and a pretty low arch and I cannot WAIT to use these tomorrow!

Ballerina60710/20/2008GOOD SHOES
These were my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pairs. I loved them at first. Then my feet got so strong I overpowered them and they made me fall off. Anyway, these are GREAT first shoes. But KNOW when they're dead!!!

Liana09/28/2008 California,STRANGE AND HIDEOUS SHOES.
I have never worn these, but I know many people who have had them. They looked terrible on all of their feet and when they get dirty, these awkward little dots appear. Not appealing at all.

Hollie04/01/2008FAB!
I'm 14 years old and have been on pointe for over 2 years now. My first pair of pointe shoes were Gamba 97 and always have been. I'm only on my fourth pair for 2 years, which I think is amazing and shows what a good shoe it is. They're so comfortable and fit perfectly. I definitely recommend them.

Katherine08/08/2007 New Jersey,VERY GOOD
These were, and still are, my very first pair of pointe shoes! Since these are my first, I don't really have anything to compare them to. But these are very good shoes! I have a VERY wide metatarsal bone and short toes, so sometimes they get a little squished together, but it's not very painful at all. I have a narrow heel, but this shoe stays snugly on without the help of elastics! However, I have a flat foot and I do need elastics to keep the sides closer to my foot, and they still balloon up a little, but it's not bad. I don't have a high arch but my feet are pretty strong, so mine are probably almost broken in. Overall, these are great shoes and I recommend them!

Allyne07/12/2007 Buffalo, Ny,
Now that I'm an old woman and my feet have changed, Gambas are no longer wide enough for my dinosaur feet! It's a shame because these are fantastic shoes, and in my dancing gladiator days, I would wear NOTHING else. I like the idea behind the carbon fiber shank as opposed to redboard. My only qualm was that I have very short toes and therefor tend to knuckle. Overall, I just have very strong feet, so I could take out the box in a few hours. However, working in dance retail, I know the life of a pointe shoe really isn't much more than that. I like the unique shape of the box and the colour.

Steph01/28/2007 Alaska,OK AT FIRST
I started out with Gambas because I have really high flexible arches and they helped me stay back. But after the first year of pointe, they start to break really easily...the last pair I got broke after two classes! I recommend these shoes for beginners with high flexible arches.

Crystal12/17/2006 California,AMAZING
These shoes are really easy to break into without wearing out, literally! The shank doesn't "snap" or "break". Especially if you have a poor arch, I totally recommend getting this shoe because it's easy to go over your toes!

This shoe is hard to break in and the 3/4 shank does not bend easily. However, it fits fairly well and balances nicely. Also, ribbons are included which is definitely a plus.

Mandy04/23/2006 Indiana,
I started pointe when I was nine. By the time I was 14, I had been through 5 different types of pointe shoes. Freed, Grishko, Bloch, nothing felt right. I hated everything I was wearing. During a fitting with a very knowledgeable woman, I finally found these. I've been wearing them since and I love them. I haven't had any problems whatsoever. They're fabulous looking and are surprisingly comfortable!

Kaley04/09/2006 Louisiana,
I've had a lot of problems with pointe shoes because of bad fittings. They fit me too wide and thanks to ingrown toenail surgery and sprained ankles, I had almost no ankle strength. After wearing these a year, my feet look completely different!

Mizzymugs 10/14/2013 Australia Age: 35 to 44 Has the cut of these shoes changed?
My original pair of these shoes look exactly like the picture. The pairs I have just received in the post look completely different. The new pair had a angled seam rather than a straight seam as shown and the shape of the block if different.
I am unaware of any changes for this shoe. The vendor may have redesigned it. You are welcome to return the shoes for a refund if it is not what you expected. - DDS Customer Service (10/15/2013)
