I just purchased these and should have read the reviews more thoroughly. I have wide but compressible toes and followed the guidelines of 1/2 size down. TOO SMALL. Can't return them because I have been wearing them around to try and stretch the leather and all that resulted in was wrinkles in the leather but no real give. They are of very nice quality and I defiantly make you work your feet but my 5th metatarsal joint is defiantly feeling compression.... wish I would have sent them back and gotten a street size or 1/2 size up to make up for narrow toes. I LOVE MDM PRODUCTS THOUGH but these seem best for narrow feet with no compression.

IsabelAsra02/24/2014BEST JAZZ SHOE I'VE EVER OWNED
I absolutely love these shoes! They provide more arch support than any jazz shoe I have tried, and MDM's claims that the shoes help dancers sense and correct pronation have definitely proven true for me. They create a beautiful arch and smooth profile all around. I use these shoes for belly dance teaching and performance. They emulate the look of traditional bare feet and don't distract from my costumes, yet protect my feet even from the dirty restaurant and nightclub floors where I sometimes perform. I was worried at first about wearing such an expensive shoe in those conditions, but I've been wearing them 8 hours per week for 2 months in class, performance and rehearsals and they're holding up extremely well. I like that they are mostly leather with only a little bit of neoprene because they're easy to clean. The small wedges of neoprene on either side allow for plenty of stretch. I bought them in my street size and they were tight at first but that's how I like my shoes. They stretched to a comfortable fit with a few hours of wearing them around the house and now they're perfect! I am considering buying another pair in a half size up (or a wide if it becomes available) so that I can insert some gel padding for long hours of teaching. They're not cheap, but if you dance long hours or have any sort of foot problems, they are well worth the price. I doubt I'll ever buy another brand of jazz shoe again.

Kary02/15/2014EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE
This pair is the most comfortable one I had in the past 4 years since I started dancing. The cushion pads in the front give so much support when turning and my feet (front paws) don't feel any pain after long hours of dancing. Worth every penny.

Sassygirlsmom01/22/2014BEAUTIFUL FEET IN THESE SHOES!
My daughter's company team normally dances barefoot but this year they were required to buy both Black and Tan jazz shoes. Personally I hate the look of jazz shoes-I love the line of bare feet much better. I hate the bunching in the arch that most jazz shoes produce. Since my daughter loved the way her MDM ballet slippers fit we decided to
Give the jazz shoes a try. Her feet are still growing and when she grows, she has a tendency to pronate so I like the arch support the ballet slippers and these jazz shoes provides. There is NO evidence of pronating in these shoes. And honestly, her feet look better in these shoes than those of her teammates in their various brands of shoes. Her arch line is clean with no bagging. These shoes are expensive, but you are getting what you pay for. The ONLY suggestion I'd have for MDM is that they also offer these in narrow widths like their ballet slippers. They'd just fit that much better.

JazzyC06/07/2013BEAUTIFUL SHOE, ORDER STREET SHOE SIZE
This is a really high quality shoe at a great price. There is a pliable but supportive arch built into the shoe, totally unique.
The sizing info says to order a 1/2 size down, which I found to be incorrect. They are too small. I kept them, because I wasn't sure how much they would stretch, but the leather is better quality than the Capezios I used to wear, and it doesn't seem like it is going to loosen up a whole lot. I would say to order street shoe size, unless you have very narrow feet.

What color tights?
I'm going to have my team order these jazz shoes for next season, however, I'm not sure what color of tights best matches the tan of these shoes. What color would you suggest? Brand and color info would be great - looking for convertible tights. Thank you!
Unfortunately we do not carry tights by this brand so I cannot guarantee an exact match. However the color nude in the capezio tights should match fairly well. - DDS Customer Service (04/14/2014)
