Schenectady,NYProbably Costic but most synthetic stuff is. Holds up pretty well but you must be very careful ( as you should be ) not to use to much so that it does not bleed thru the material or form painful ridges and bumps as it dries by hardening folds or creases and creating and it can create sandpaper like effect as well if you use to much.

New York,NYLove this Jet Glue it is an absolute necessity! I also particularly like this one because the amount you get lasts forever and the cap doesn't get glue stuck in it.

08/24/2015My teacher recommended I use Jet Glue to make my pointe shoes last longer. All I can say is great product and works well! I use it for my toe tips and shank. Just be careful not to get it on your hands or anywhere else because it almost works too good! Comes out like water so use with caution.

03/07/2015The first time I heard about gluing pointe shoes to make them last longer, I used this glue, which a lot of dancers seem to like. It worked well for a while, but I soon realized using a wood varnish like shellac or polyurethane does the job better and is cheaper. Also I find the application of jet glue rather difficult. I use it on the inside of the shoe (on either side of the shank), all over the inside of the box, and on the outside of the shoe (at the arch). All these nooks and crannies are rather hard to get to with the tip of the glue container, that's why painting it on with shellac is much more effective.

06/03/2013I was pretty leery about ordering this because of the price. But, it is actually a pretty big bottle and since it's so liquidy, it will last forever. I have never used pointe shoe glue, so I didn't know what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It made my pointe shoes so hard again too. I wear my shoes 4 classes a week for the whole class, so after just 4 months, they were getting soft. This glue made them much more supportive again. It is a really good product. Two thumbs up! :)

03/24/2012I just started using jet glue on my shoes when i starting noticing that my shoes were dying way to quickly. The jet glue really hardened the shoe like i wanted, but it left the shoe with an odd stain. Now i prefer using shellac instead of jet glue because shellac doesn't leave an odd stain and does a relatively equal job. The only bad thing about shellac is that you have to shellac them after every rehearsal to keep them hard, and with jet glue you only have to do it once and they stay hard. I also like using the spraycan version of shellac instead of the paint jar version because its easier and more convenient.

02/20/2012Many of my friends and I wear Grishko 2007, and the sides of the shoes will die before the box or the shank, making it hard to get over the toe. We put jet glue on the sides of the shoes and it gives it tons of support, so you can wear the shoe much longer. I take it to every performance and all the company members use it to prolong the lives of their shoes, it is PERFECT!

11/23/2009I have been using Jet glue for about a year. I love it, and it does indeed work very well. I recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive way to add more life to their shoe!

04/09/2009This glue works really well if your pointe shoes need the extra hardness. It does tend to dry really hard, though. Also, when using it make sure that the material in your shoes aren't "folded over" or else it'll create a lump in your shoes making it impossible to dance correctly. Overall, a good buy :)

03/12/2009I was really upset after my pointe shoe platform was soft after just two hours of pointe. Jet Glue did it's job and helped my dead pointe shoes live for another four months. Can't live without it!

Colorado,So when I got my shoes fitted, (I just started pointe about a month ago) The lady told me to put this glue all over on the inside of the toe and on the outside of the shoe at the shank, and on the tip and all over the place BEFORE I even wore them, to make the shoes last. DO NOT do this unless you are very brutal to your shoes and need the extreme extra life. I did and now it is virtually impossible for me to roll up through my foot. I get blisters from wearing them gently for 45 minutes, and the top part of the box where it hits my foot has completely callused my foot there. I have to extensively tape my toes everytime I wear them. They are ROCK HARD. I'mtrying to break them a little bit but not having much success. When I jump just regular soutes, you can hear me jumping two studios over cause they are so hard. That also made them REALLY hard to darn. The satin kept breaking on me! The only reason I give them two stars and not one is cause I am sure that I will get an incredible life span out of these shoes, and once they break, then I can glue them back together with this same glue. So, if used properly, a good buy, if used improperly, a recipe for ten times as many blisters as you might normally get.

10/09/2008I put a little on my shanks just to test it but I guess you have to put a lot on them to harden them. Be careful when you open it- you stick a pin in it to open it and when I pulled it out I got glue on fingers and they stuck immediately! I finally got it off.

05/12/2008This is a must have for any serious ballet student. Because it extends the life of your pointe shoes, it can save you HUNDREDS of dollars. Be careful though, it is not wise to substitute an extra bottle of jet glue for a new pair of shoes. Nothing can return your shoes to absolutely new, and the best thing to do for your feet in the long run is to replace your dead shoes with ones that can properly hold you up and facilitate pointe work!

02/19/2008I spent years getting frustrated at how quickly my boxes would soften before I started using this stuff. I found that the best way for me to use it was to use it when the shoe was brand new. I coated the inside of each box, rather than wait til they were already softening and not perfectly flat and neat. Doing this extended the life of each pair of shoes by months!

02/19/2008This stuff works, but I would just go buy some superglue. It does dry really fast. Don't keep it in your dance bag. It comes open really easily. I don't think it's a wonderful lifesaver or anything, but it does increase the length of time you can wear your shoes by about one class. I think this is just a waste of your money.

Utah,I love this stuff! It is absolutely amazing!!! It hardens shoes quickly and more efficiently than any type of other glue or floor wax that I've used. If you have strong feet and need your pointe shoes to last longer, then I would definitely buy this stuff! Even though the price seems expensive, it'll last a very long time!

09/17/2006THIS GLUE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!! I love it sooooo much! It makes your shoes really hard, but sometimes that's what you need. I had a pair of pointe shoes that I used this glue on twice and they lasted about 3 or 4 months! I recommend this to anyone! Sometimes the glue leaks through if you put it on the inside, but you couldn't be able to see it that well from a stage, so that's fine :)!

Florida,Jet glue really works great; it's perfect to keep in your bag for emergencies! Dries pretty fast, and makes your shoes super hard. Just make sure you keep it in a plastic baggie, so it doesn't leak on stuff. Also, it made the inside of my pointe shoes feel like sandpaper once! :( that wasn't fun. It leaks all the way through easliy, so be careful!

West Virginia,I just got this in the mail today and experimented on a few old shoes... this glue is amazing!!! I break shoes after just a few classes, the boxes get really pliable and "mushy" and make it impossible to roll through pointe properly. A few drops of jet glue into boxes of my shoes and they're as strong as when I first bought them!

05/15/2006Awesome! I thought that I was going to have to get new pointe shoes. But, it took a little while to get used to the box being super hard.
