PRETTY BUT SLIPPERY
I got this ribbon because my teacher said she liked how it wasn't shiny. I really like the look, it's pretty, and with great quality. However, it was a little slippery in my fingers, that when I accidentally cut it to short I had to re-sew the ribbons to make it longer. Overall I love these ribbons :)

LOOK THE BEST OF ANY RIBBON
I bought these thinking they would be the prefect color pairing to Freed pointe shoes, and they are perfect. The picture isn't very flattering, but they are a really good pink color that is't too pastel but also not at all yellow. They give you plenty of ribbon for both shoes, and as long as you burn the ends off, hey won't fray. I also like that these are equally shiny on both sides so you can't mess up while sewing. The best part of these is they look great on stage, because of the more matte looking satin, unlike Grishko ribbons that are super shinny.

There i was only one ribbon 1-1/4 yards long in the bag not 21/2 yards as advertised. I contacted customer service they were very friendly, apologized are crediting my account.

BEST RIBBONS EVER
These are amazing, I always use these! The picture makes them look really orange, but in reality, they perfectly blend with ballet pink tights and also look really good with white tights. They are super durable, but not rough at all. They are also perfect for the stage because they are matte and don't require pancaking.

THIS IS THE ONLY RIBBON.
This is the perfect ribbon! not shiny, not crispy, not too short, not expensive, good color for any shoe and tights, could we ask for anything more? Why is there even any other ribbon in the world?

I LOVE THESE RIBBONS.
I love these ribbons. I got them out of necessity at first and I liked them. And then I ordered the Grishko ribbons on accident and I was really disappointed. The Freed ribbons are thick enough to feel strong and don't wrinkle too badly.

I really like this ribbon. It is thick, but not too thick. I will never buy the Grishko ribbon again now that I've tried this! It is MUCH better! I love it! The perfect color to match my Bloch Sonatas =)

WONDERFUL!
I bought these ribbons not on purpose and have fallen in love with them. Great quality and last a long time. I love how it's double sided so it doesn't scratch against your tights. One of my ballet teachers actually used these ribbons when she danced pointe and that was years ago, so these ribbons have been a favorite of many and haven't changed at all. Buy these ribbons!

MY FAVORITE...
This is a beautiful, creamy pink ribbon with a matte finish, and it is supportive and doesn't really fray if you are careful to singe the ends and sew it well. The color matches perfectly with Gaynor Minden regular elastic and Capezio supplex/lycra pink tights, so if you're looking for an unbroken line, then this is just what works for me.

GOES WELL WITH CAPEZIO
These ribbons are just fine, just like all the other ribbons out there. Can't really go wrong with ribbon. They fray easily, so watch out (all ribbons do). Also, they are pinker than Grishko ribbons, so they go great with the Capezio pink. They aren't as shiny as Grishko ribbons, but they hold up better and go better with Capezio shoes.

Freed ribbons are the best! No matter what brand of pointe shoe I've ever bought, I always buy the Freed ribbons with them. They are a great color and not too shiny like the other brands.

BRILLIANCE IN RIBBON-FORM
What can I say? Freed just does it better! These ribbons are flexible yet supportive, they keep the shoe on firmly but move freely with you. The colour is quite nice, even when paired with non-Freed shoes. They're really easy to adjust, they don't slip out of knots, but aren't impossible to untie, they don't dig into your leg or do that unsightly wrinkly-business at the ankle. I swear, once you switch to Freeds, you'll never go back!

Absolutely the best. Thick enough so they don't cut into you, soft and durable. Ribbons are supplied with the shoes I wear, but I always order the Freed ribbons on the side. Worth the extra money.

I am looking to get these ribbons but I am wondering how many packages I need to purchase for my new pair of pointe shoes. For my last pair of pointe shoes I used grishko ribbons and when I went to sew them and found that I needed 1 more package.. or at least that's what my teacher said. What do you think? Any imput would be VERY helpful!
One pair of ribbon should suffice for one pair of shoes, however if you like to cross your ribbon, it may be a good idea to order 2 sets of ribbons. - DDS Customer Service (10/22/2013)
It depends on how wide your ankles are and how loose or tight you like your ribbons. I have only ever needed on package of ribbons in Freed and Grishko, and In general most others only need one. - Lovediscountdance (01/11/2015)
